Many employees are now issued with compulsory work shoes and boots fitted with steel caps, safety boots, rubber boots wellingtons or similar non-functional shoes when working in various industrial sectors such as construction, transport, warehousing and emergency services.

It’s inevitable that many people wearing these types of shoe or boots will, at some point maybe earlier or later suffer from the problems of sweaty feet, bad odours, blisters or athlete’s foot.

A consequence of these problems could lead to demotivation and loss of work time. Safety shoes can protect you from mechanical hazards but they are no insurance for health risks.
They do not actively breathe because many products offer some form of water resistant membrane technology to prevent accidental spillage or moisture getting to the feet, these membranes can create more health problems
